We laser-cut acrylic, basswood, balsawood, aircraft plywood, high density foam and many other types of plastics that can be used to build your architectural scale models. Materials may have thicknesses ranging from .010" to 1" and the sheet size may be up to 96" x 48".

Types of Cutting

Cutting: Laser-cutting is a heat cutting process. The laser beam cuts through flat sheet materials, and the laser beam is always perpendicular to the plane of materials. Many materials react well to heat and cut very precisely, while other materials are prone to melting and discoloring. On some plastics, like acrylic, the laser beam flame polishes the edge as it cuts; therefore, no edge finishing is required.

Scoring/Scribing: Our laser systems can cut partially through, i.e. score, materials. The depth and width of scored lines can be adjusted to meet your needs. Masking and double-sided adhesive can also be applied as requested.
